MyResearchPortal
Terms of use
Who we are
MyResearchPortal is run by BG Internet Services, Kumasi, Ghana. In these terms, "we" means BG Internet Services and "you" means anyone who uses the site, whether as a student, supervisor or institution staff member. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms.
Your account
- Give your real name and an email address you use. Your supervisor and institution need to recognise you.
- Keep your password to yourself. One account is for one person; do not share it or sign in for someone else.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- Supervisors join through an invitation from their student and see only the projects they were invited to.
Your work stays yours
Everything you write or upload remains your work. You give us permission only to store it, show it to the people you share it with, and process it to provide the site's tools: reviews, spelling and grammar checks, similarity checks, summaries of your slides, and Word downloads. We do not publish your work or claim any right to it.
To find copying, saved project sections and assignments are compared with other work on the site. Other students may learn that a passage matches work held on the site, but they never see your name. For assignments you can choose whether your work stays in the comparison store.
Academic honesty
- MyResearchPortal gives feedback, guidance and checks. It is built not to write your work for you, and you must not use it to present someone else's work as your own.
- Follow your university's rules on plagiarism, the use of AI tools and citation. If those rules are stricter than this site's tools, your university's rules apply.
- Upload only material you are allowed to use: your own writing, your lecturer's slides for your own study, and sources you are entitled to read.
- A similarity result is a guide for you and your supervisor, not a ruling on misconduct. Decisions about misconduct belong to your institution.
MyResearch Helper and other automated tools
Reviews, marking reports, summaries, practice questions, dictation and spelling suggestions are produced automatically, partly by outside AI services. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important against your sources, your lecture notes and your supervisor's advice. Daily limits apply to each tool and are shown beside it.
Tokens and payments
- Some tools use MyResearch Helper tokens. Each account gets a free allowance; more tokens can be bought where the site offers it.
- Payments are taken by Paystack. We never see or store your card or mobile money details.
- Tokens are used up as you use the tools and cannot be exchanged for cash. If you were charged but your tokens did not arrive, contact us with the payment reference and we will put it right.
Things you must not do
- Upload anything unlawful, abusive, or that breaks someone else's copyright or privacy.
- Try to get into other people's accounts or work, or to get round daily limits, payments or security.
- Overload the site, copy it with automated tools, or resell access to it.
If you break these terms we may suspend or close your account. Where we can, we will tell you first and let you download your work.
Keeping the site running
We back up the site regularly and work to keep it available, but we cannot promise it will always be on, or that nothing will ever be lost. Keep your own copies of important work: download your project or assignment as a Word file from time to time, and always before a deadline. We may change, add or remove features; when a change affects how you use the site, we will say so on the site.
Our responsibility
The site is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for grades, examination results, decisions made by your institution, or losses that come from relying on automated feedback. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the laws of Ghana that cannot be limited.
Ending your use
You can stop using the site at any time, and delete your account and your work yourself under Account. The privacy notice explains what is deleted and the few records that stay.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we will tell you on the site or by email before it applies.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. For questions about them, contact BG Internet Services through support@bgvinternetservices.com.
